Summer 2005 in New York

Back to the time when I was travelling on my Work & Travel USA Summer Programme 2005

After weeks of pure high in carbs western diet, we were eager to taste Asian food once again after setting foot in this metropolitan country -- our hope then for having more authentic Asian food. Not long after checking into the hotel, we found a chic Vietnamese restaurant to satisfy our craving hunger.



Once our stomachs were appeased, the next popoular move in the City of the Big Apple was naturally to catch a Broadway. After casting some votes, we settled on "Hair Spray"! (Yup! They did a movie on it and the 4 of us caught it together back in SG!). Man! There was so much of Alacrity.



When I visited the city, it was during the period of the memorial for Sep 11. Went to Ground Zero. The place felt cold and silent though there were crowds. Cannot imagine what I'll feel if I went now. Set upon the pavement was a long sheet of white cloth where people wrote words of commemoration. Some(one) from Singapore wrote :



After a week's stay, it's time to say goodbye New York and visit our next destination of our mini mini US voyage. Here we were waiting to get onto the plane at Newark Airport.
