Hello
It's been weeks since I feel so relaxed... to be able to stay in the apartment having my breakfast at my own pace, sipping orange juice while watching tv and surfing on the web without the usual hassle to go with. The past couple of weeks, at least, have been tiring...having to work 11 days straight for at least 12 hours without being able to sit and having to speak to hundreds of people each day. The record was having to speak for 1-3 hours and walking to and fro continously for a few days.
Well.. as for what have I been up to? Besides work. Not much free time too. Have only one day off per week. But the past two day offs have been interesting. Now, I can claim that I've been to one of the 7 wonders of the world...the Niagara Falls. It wasn't as tall as what I had in mine but it was nonetheless magnificent. The pictures taken on digicam look unreal... they look like waterbrush paintings.
On my last day off I went white water rafting at the Lower Yough River, Ohiopyle, PA. It was cool having to ride in the rapids with friends and piling on top of one another when we went over rocks. Though the trip was expensive but I was really glad I went for it. Where can I get rapids back home in SG? None. It was an experience and the place looked so serene. Reminds me of sights in Jurassic Park and Ananconda.. without the attacks of creatures.
Was watching Good Will Hunting just now. It was shown in the early 1900s. But I still kinda vividly remember Matt Damon getting an award for this show... and it seemed like it wasn't too long ago. How time flies. Yesterday marks my end of 3 months in the US. It was just like yesterday when I left Changi Airport and arrived at this foreign land. Though I've been to US before...this time round... it's different. The first few days of work was unbearable ( though it still is) ... my friends and I were commenting that it will be so tough having to work for 2-3 more months. But now... many Singaporeans have left. The numbers decreased more than half. More than 40 Singaporeans came but now 11 are left... and 3 will be leaving tmr. Somehow... it's a little depressing that so many S'poreans have left. Despite not being close to some of them.. it's still sad that they're leaving. Afterall... we've spent times in a foreign land together... braving the cold... having to put up with mean and lazy people, etc.
I dunno if this whole trip has been good for me. Has it changed me? I still cannot tell... I just wished I had more time to slow down, to rest and think of what I need. I'm working my days... the thought of having return home.. and that all these will end in 2 months time often slips into my mind. It'll be a major transition. Having to return home to my own culture...back to reality... no more school...having to enter society, look for a job (when I'm so out of touch with my books) and taking up major responsbilities. It's kinda scary. When should I start? Where should I start?
Well...will blog another time. Ciaoz!
