Uncovering

Bagged an entertaining yester-evening in the Chinatown vicinity by engaging in one of my hobbies -- viewing decors. Behind the facade of a rather conventional-looking China Square Central actually conceals an all so divine sight : a band of angels sculptored using twinkle lights was strategically situated beside a fountain, and an illuminated carousel gave that special finishing touch. Felt like I was in one of those European squares with the exception of the surroundings being a blend of western and chinese architectures.

This wasn't the end of the visual indulgence. Walked through Club Street and came across diners and bars with psychedelic and rustic themes. Ah.. some of my fave themes.

Christmas has gotta be one of my fave festive holiday. Reasons being : it's the season with lotsa golden-white twinkle lights and candles. Looking at the radiance from these lights gives me a serene, warm and probably even a blissful feeling.

My personal collection :) An assembly of vibrant colours and beautiful memories

HK Overture

Haha. Yupz yupz... gonna comment a little about my whirlwind trip to HK during the short National Day Hols Weekend. Shan't talk about the 'lavish' treatment I had for the Biz class flight... though I quite enjoyed the curry prawns and one of the stewards had a slight resemblance to Allan Wu and spoke with traces of American accent.

Had to first transit at BKK Airport before heading to HK. Saw something that pretty much amazed me... not in the 'wow' sense but the respective images just didn't piece nicely. A golf course was situated just beside the runway of the airport... no fences demarcated them.. just a monsoonal drain with lotus plants in it!

At HK, I shopped as though there was no tomorrow... which was kinda true.. coz' I didn't have another tomorrow in HK... :p Had my lunch and dinner after 1 am for both nights at some Macau Restaurant that was furnished in the typical HK style. I ordered Macau style fishball noodles on one of the nitez... and guess what.. the proclaimed 'noodles' was actually bean sprouts...

Talking about food... their beancurd with mango cubes in mango sauce was simply delectable! It would've been heavenly if not for the sour mango cubes.. but the mango sauce and the beancurd was a divine combi. :( Missing it...

Realized that HKies are into branded stuff. Many of the teens donned brands and those branded stores seemed to have thriving businesses there. Oh.. the the guys there really do work on personal presentation with trendy hairstyles and clothes... mainly street-wear. Cool.

The Sands of Time

It's the time of the year again... Alumni pracs. Wonder if I'm entitled to pay $6 for the student's meal at Prince Cafe! Ok.. some may say I look eligible but I've gotta get company... let me think.. whose hair ain't colored and get her to wear nycb tee. heehee. The main course ain't that great but I like the soup and the fact that the set costs $6... haha.. cheapo... and wanna reminisce in gd times. haiz.. but some things are lost in time.

Had a fair share of fun in sec sch... doing crazy stuff with my crazy frenz... like some of those reading this now.. hiakz.

My personal 'hall of fame':
1. Nose ring that "bestowed" me with the title of "ah lian"
2. Boots
3. Blue lipstick, nail polish, glitter set
4. BSB - Nick Carter fanatic
5. Claire Danes ardent pursuer
6. ... ... not forgetting..the word that many associate with me... guessed it? Yeah.. normal lah.

Had my potion of serious embarassment, giggles, etc... missed those days despite the so-called insanity some would say. teehee --> a word Jiahui uses??

Spring Clean

Finally decided to dispose some of my 'relics'..heh. Sec n JC's papers. Freed up some space... but it's still not enough. Need more cupboards that my room and the house definitely can't accomodate. It would definitely be neat to have a study room. Would love to have a mini-library in my future abode... a miniature of the one in 'Beauty & the Beast'.

All these rummaging led to a so-called discovery of me of the past. 1) My handwriting used to be much neater than now. 2) My grades in secondary sch were much much better that I've forgotten that they used to belong to me. My grades now are incorrigible. So...? Have I become dumber? Or coz' the content is getting harder and I am not smart enough to handle it? 3) I had more commitments to eca and I think the homework load was heavier then having had more subjects, as compared to varsity, yet I'm scoring worse now. YIKES! I'm degenerating. Scary.

A downhill trend... my soft spot that's vulnerable to attack by those future employees who tends to make things difficult for interviewees. But before that... I've gotta churn out a decent resume. But it's gonna be tough... a resume without a beautiful transcript to complement... especially when THE branded firms are calling the cards.

Update

Ended my almost 3 wks long exams. Am pretty worried... my last paper didn't end on the note I had hoped for. Exams comes with exogenous factors. One sem really passes in a flash. Remember watching the almost entertaining (if not for the lost of transmission amidst the action) "Van Helsing" on the day of my last paper last sem. Soon.. in one sem's time.. I'll be whizzing off to Ohio.

On the issue of Sg Idol. Oli's out! Thought she was one of the better candidates to represent sg in World Idol. If Ella of SHE can be so popular, wonder why people won't give Oli that chance? Dun anticipate a tough fight in the finals.

Climbed up the little hill next to my block on Sunday morning. Woke up at 7am! Geez! Don't actually see myself waking up at that kinda time for such a purpose. Heh.. wonder how many people who've been to my place actually realize that there's a hill next to my block. Had dinner at Samy's opp. Botanical Gardens. Masala Chicken... a new item on my meal list.

Been crapping. Feeling sleepy but uncomfortable with a headache, aching back and aching legs. Symptoms of aging?

A Minute of Reflection?

It's really dumb how people can pump in humongous amounts of resources into warfare, which can be put to much better use -- improving standards of living of their people, whom these activists so-call claim to be fighting for or protecting. Rational, not.

But many micro individuals do commit such erroneous actions. Human nature? (Fault of the Matrix? : )

Vicious effects. Micro ---> Macro ---> Micro ---> Macro ... ...

Fruit Astrology

Fruit Astrology - http://www.astroyogi.com/NewMsn/astromagic/fruitastrology/#top

A HEALTHY way to learn more about yourself. Hah!

Orange:
If orange is your favourite fruit; it speaks of a person who has enduring patience and willpower. You like to do things slowly; but very thoroughly and are completely undaunted by hard work. You tend to be shy; but are a reliable and trustworthy friend. You have an aesthetic bent of mind. You select your partner with care and thought; you love with all your heart, and are not in for just a fling. You avoid conflict at all costs.

Heart To Heart

Heard this over the radio :

"When two people are angry with each other, their hearts distance and this propels them to shout. When one party shouts, he would get angrier and both hearts become further apart. Thus, the shouting magnifies.

When two people are in love, their hearts are close; thus, they can speak softly to their other half.

When two people are deeply in love with each other, their hearts would have united. This time, they need not communicate through speech for the can read from the other's gaze."

I take it.
